Designed to remove customers’ old, inefficient and costly projection  hardware,  Epson has a solution to replace this with new more energy efficient devices.

Customers can earn up to £36 inc VAT* per product recycled when they upgrade their old projector (from any manufacturer) to a new Epson model. Epson will responsibly collect and recycle the old device.

The scheme will run until 30th June 2012.

The warranty on their entry level projectors has been improved to include 3 year de-install/re-install projector warranty and 3 year lamp warranty for education customers in the UK.
Businesses benefit from a 3 year swap out warranty and 6 months or 5000 hours lamp warranty.

The improved warranty is currently available on the TW Series (PT-TW230EA, PT-TW231REA), LX Series (PT-LX22EA EDU, PT-LX26EA EDU) and CW Series (PT-CW230EA and PT-CX200EA).

Beware of “too good to be true” offers!

There has been a global shortage of lamps on some Hitachi projector lines recently yet some distributors and resellers are claiming to have stock at low prices.
Now a major projector lamp distributor in the UK has tested some samples and as expected, the lamp were fake in Hitachi branded boxes. They have reported:

“The quality of copying on the samples that we have received has been outstandingly good.  It would take an expert to identify them from genuine lamps, as the boxes, labels and instructions have only minor flaws. The cages offer the main clues, but only if you know what to look for and you have the genuine product to compare against. Even the bulbs have been faked, despite having genuine looking markings.”

Fake lamps aren’t subjected to the strict quality controls and assessments that OEM and genuine alternative lamps go through during production and there is a major concern over users’ safety because projector lamps contain mercury and glass and they are subjected to high temperatures, pressure and voltages.

We would like to assure our customers that all our lamps are 100% genuine and if you have any concern about a lamp supplied by another reseller, please contact us.

If you have purchased a Sanyo projector recently you will need to register the warranty soon to benefit from it; in particular if you have purchased a model with an extended lamp warranty.
Remember the warranty needs to be registered within 30 days from purchase.

How about warranty on my Sanyo projector?

Customers who purchased a Sanyo projector recently or who are looking at buying one of the remaining stock need not worry about warranty.
Panasonic have committed that Sanyo products will continue to carry the standard manufacturer warranty even if they have been sold after 31st March 2012 (the date that the Sanyo brand was officially withdrawn). They have also made arrangements to ensure that Sanyo warranties are supported and provisioned in future.

What are the alternatives to Sanyo projectors?

Panasonic have extended their range to fill the void created by the withdrawal of Sanyo projectors.
From entry level to high end professional projectors, Panasonic have a model to suit.

Also other manufacturers such as Epson, Optoma, Hitachi, NEC and Infocus already offer a wide range of popular models. There is a suitable replacement for every Sanyo model.
