How to replace a projector lamp?
When you need to change your projector lamp, always follow the manufacturer's recommendations as stated in your projector manual.
The usual procedure is as follows:
| NOTE: Do not touch the
glass area of the
lamp. Natural oil from your hands can
cause the lamp to
shatter. Use a dry
cloth to clean the
lamp module if it
was accidentally
touched. |
- Turn the projector off by pressing the Power button
- Allow the projector to cool down for 30 - 45 minutes
- Disconnect the projector from the power cable
- Unscrew the screws on the lamp compartment cover (figure 1); lift and remove the cover (figure 2)
- Unscrew the screws on the lamp module (figure 3)
- Lift up the handle on the lamp (figure 4) and pull the lamp out slowly and carefully.
- Insert the new lamp carefully, tighten the screws on the lamp (not too tight), replace the lamp compartment cover and tighten the screws on the cover.
- Reconnect the power cable and turn the projector on.
- If required, reset the lamp counter in the projector menu.
