Screen Type
Purple
Cat offers a large assortment of mobile and stationery screens.
For stationery use we offer wall screens for wall or ceiling
mounting either electrical, with hand crank or manually
operated. For mobile use we offer a broad selection of tripod
screens, fast fold screens, travel and table screens.
2.
Screen Size
The
room size and the positioning of the audience are the overriding
factors in deciding the correct screen size. The audience
should not be too close to the screen - otherwise they will
only see the whole image by constantly moving their heads.
On the other hand they should also not be too far away -
otherwise their eyes will get tired quite quickly.
The
minimum distance from the screen to the front row should
be 1.5x the screen width, the maximum distance
from the screen to the back of the audience should not exceed
6x the screen width.
3.
The ratio of height and width
Each
projection method has a certain height/width projection
ratio:

Data-Video projection
Wide image projection (HDTV) |

The
screen size should be suited to the chosen projection method
to achieve a smooth and clear projected image. Purple Cat
offers an extensive range of screen sizes in all ratios.
If you don't see the exact screen you require, please call
us as we can also custom make screens to your exact requirements.
4.
The quality of fabric
Screen
fabrics fall into two broad categories:
Matt
White
Diffuse the light in all directions
Give a viewing angle of approximately 45 degrees
This
fabric is good if you have less ambient light and the seating
arrangement fills the entire room.
Datalux
Returns the light back along the projection axis twice as
brightly as matt white screens
Mostly made of mother of pearl colours
Give a viewing angle of approximately 30 degrees
Achieve an extremely neutral image. Datalux fabric is the
right choice if you have enough ambient light and if there
is a small level of seating.
If
you require any further advice as to which screens are most
appropriate, please do not hesitate to contact us.
