The new SMART Board GX series includes all the basics at an affordable price.
Available in sizes 65", 75" and 86" diagonal, the GX series features up to 20-point touch, 4K Ultra HD resolution, built-in Android computing, integrated WiFi and ambient light sensors.
It also includes free SMART Notebook basic software, SMART Ink annotation software, built-in whiteboard, free SMART Exchange content library for teachers and SMART Limited Equipment warranty.
Built-in Android computing
Teachers can browse the Internet, use the built-in whiteboard, screenshare and more without needing to connect a computer to the display.
SMART Notebook basic and SMART Ink
Create, edit and deliver interactive lessons with the highly popular SMART Notebook basic software. No subscription is required (unless you want to upgrade to SMART Learning Suite for additional features) to use features like infinite cloning, text editing and 3D objects plus subject-specific tools like creative pens, equation editor, math tools and more.

The SMART Ink software allows educators to annotate and mark up over your own applications and familiar file types such as PDFs and Microsoft Office files. Move, copy/paste and erase notes or even convert them to text, without needing to change pens or turn on new tool settings each time you want to write.
SMART Exchange
SMART Exchange is a free library of content like activities, games and SMART Notebook lessons created by teachers for teachers. Search by subject, year, resource type etc.
SMART Limited Equipment warranty
While the other series of education SMART Boards (MX, 6000S, 7000R) come with SMART Assure warranty, the GX Series includes SMART Limited Equipment warranty.
The Limited Equipment warranty includes remote troubleshooting support from SMART and, when required, advanced hardware replacement with 2-way shipping or return to base repair at SMART's discretion.
What is the difference between the GX Series and other education SMART Board series?
While the GX Series includes all the essentials needed to get started with interactivity, some features available on the higher end models are not included on the GX Series to keep it as affordable as possible. The main differences are:
- Touch Technology: The GX series uses Advanced infrared touch technology as opposed to HyPr Touch on the higher models. You can find out the difference between interactive technologies in our guide here.
- Software: Unlike higher series, the GX Series does not include a 1-year subscription to SMART Learning Suite as standard. If you would like SMART SLS, you will need to buy a licence separately. Call us for pricing.
- SMART Remote Management: The GX Series does not include a subscription to SMART Remote Management as standard; it would need to be purchase separately if required.
- Interactive experience: The GX Series doesn't support Simultaneous Tool Differentiation. This feature available on other series allows multiple students to write, select and erase simultaneously and independently.
- Built-in Android experience: The GX Series features 3Gb memory rather than 4Gb on other series and updates over-the-air are not automatic.
- Wall mount bracket: While other series include a standard wall mount bracket, the GX Series does not. You will need to purchase a mount or stand separately.
- Warranty: As mentioned earlier, the GX Series comes with a SMART Limited Equipment warranty rather than SMART Assure warranty.
